About the Author
I've been a Family Practice Physician Assistant for 17 years. In that time, I've watched something happen over and over in my exam room — patients leaving appointments more confused than when they walked in. They don't know what questions to ask. They aren't sure what their diagnosis actually means. They take medications they've never had explained to them.
That's why I started Plain Medicine. Not to replace your provider — but to give you the kind of plain, honest information that helps you walk into your next appointment prepared. Knowing what to ask, what to watch for, and when to recognize that you have options.
The healthcare system was not designed to explain itself. Plain Medicine is my attempt to change that — one issue at a time.
When I'm not in the clinic or writing, I'm outside. I love sports and spending time with family. I'm married to my best friend and have two daughters who keep me humble and motivated in equal measure. Plain Medicine is written for smart, capable adults who just need someone to give it to them straight.
